Richard Lewin
ABOUT RICHARD
With over 13 years of litigation experience, Richard acts on all aspects of financial service recoveries litigation, focusing on complex defended disputes and appearing on urgent applications.
Richard has a particular interest in advocacy and has conducted interlocutory applications including applications for summary judgment and opposing injunctions.
Within his role, Richard is often required to manage situations dealing with aggressive litigants, threats of self-harm, firearms and narcotics and media threats.
Richard is one of the dedicated incident managers in the Sydney Office and has completed mental health first aid training.
Richard is a special counsel within the Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy practice group based in Sydney, having joined in 2012 after undertaking roles in general commercial and employment litigation. Richard acts for banking and non-bank lenders in providing advice and conducting litigated recovery work.
He provides internal high level support and advice on complex and non-standard issues as they arise in the recovery process and strategies to achieve the client’s objectives. His litigation practice is on defended actions as well as acting on behalf of lenders in defending actions brought by customers.
